Health center opens
Butler Co. facility accepts any patients
HAMILTON A new nonprofit health center opened Thursday in Hamilton.
Public officials and health-care officials were on hand for a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Butler County Community Health Center, which began accepting patients Nov. 26.
The health center, located at 412 Main St., accepts patients of all ages and income levels.
The center will accept insurance, Medicare, Medicaid and self-paying patients. Payments are on a sliding scale based on the patient's ability to pay. It's the only nonprofit health center in Hamilton.
Carl Ellison has been named executive director of the health center, and Drs. Srilakshmi Murthy and Candace Ireton are the on-site physicians.
The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati has donated $300,000 to the facility. Other donors include the Butler County commissioners, Fort Hamilton Healthcare Foundation, Mercy Health Partners Foundation and Miami Valley Health Services Inc.
