Eagle Scout honor awarded
Ryan Haber, Troop 149, earned the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America: the Eagle Scout Award. As his community service project, he landscaped three areas at Mercy St. Theresa Center in Mariemont. Ryan is a sophomore at Mariemont High.
Firefighter training
Timothy Stephens of the Union Township Fire Department completed the State of Ohio Basic Firefighter Program at the Ohio Fire Academy in Reynoldsburg.
AP honors
The College Board recognizes exceptional achievement on the college-level advanced-placement examinations.
The exams, which high school students take in May after completing college-level courses, are graded on a five-point scale, with five being the highest.
Charles Kersten of St. Xavier High School was named an AP National Scholar by earning an average of four or better on thenine exams he completed.
The following qualified as AP Scholars with Distinction by earning an average grade of at least 3.5 on all exams taken, and grades of three or better on five or more exams: Arjun Bansal, Eric Berling, Jason Cherot, Charles Ciccia, Niranjan Emani, Vedant Gupta, Matthew Hale, Brian Hart, Timothy King, Charles Kishman, Justin Mahida, Timothy Mulvey, Craig Neiheisel, Michael Partusch, Paul Toogood, Michael Triebwasser, Patrick Walsh and Robert Woodruff.
