MEMPHIS, Tenn. Jason Williams scored 10 of his 26 points over an 80-second span of the fourth quarter to give the Grizzlies a lead they never lost.
It was only the Grizzlies' second victory over the two-time defending NBA champions, their first since Feb. 23, 1999 in Vancouver.
With the fans in The Pyramid on their feet, the Grizzlies hit all eight of their free throws in the final 1:07 to seal their biggest victory since moving to Memphis.
Kobe Bryant led Los Angeles with 36 points, but he made only one 3-pointer after leaving the court with a strained rib at the end of the third quarter. He shot 15-of-23, but only 1-of-5 in the fourth quarter. Shaquille O'Neal added 26, while Derek Fisher had 13.
76ers 94, Hawks 83
PHILADELPHIA Allen Iverson scored 12 of his 24 points in the third quarter, and Derrick Coleman had 16 points and 11 rebounds to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to a 94-83 victory over the Atlanta Hawks on Friday night.
Jason Terry scored 22 and reserve Mark Strickland had 17 for Atlanta, which has lost three straight after winning three in a row. Shareef Abdur-Rahim had just six points on 2-for-9 shooting.
One day after coach Larry Brown criticized Iverson's shot selection and expressed displeasure that the star guard didn't practice Thursday because of a sore elbow, the NBA's MVP played just like his coach wants.
Iverson didn't rush his shots, passed the ball more and got his teammates involved in the game. The Sixers had five players reach double figures.
Pacers 100, Nets 94
INDIANAPOLIS Jermaine O'Neal scored 29 points, Reggie Miller added 16 and Al Harrington had 14 points and 11 rebounds as the Pacers snapped the Nets' four-game winning streak.
The Pacers held a 15-point lead at the end of the third quarter, but Keith Van Horn, who led the Nets with 19 points, hit a 3-pointer to make it 92-85 with 3:10 remaining. Jason Collins made two free throws and added a basket on the next possession as the Nets pulled to 94-90 with 1:28 to go.
Miller, who passed Larry Bird for 19th on the NBA's career scoring list, hit a jumper to help the Pacers seal the win.
Aaron Williams added 17 points and Jason Kidd 15 for the Nets.
Celtics 98, Jazz 92
BOSTON Paul Pierce scored 36 points and Kenny Anderson added a season-high 18 to lead the Celtics to their fifth straight home win.
The Celtics have won 11 of their last 13 games, improved to 16-8 overall and moved into a tie with New Jersey for first place in the Atlantic Division. The last time the Celtics were eight games over .500 was in 1991-92.
The Jazz cut their deficit to 94-90 on Bryon Russell's 3-pointer with 1:15 remaining, but Pierce swatted Donyell Marshall's shot and then sank a pair of free throws with 39 seconds left.
Pierce scored 17 points in the fourth quarter while Antoine Walker finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and seven assists.
Wizards 93, Magic 75
ORLANDO, Fla. The Washington Wizards won their eighth straight game despite an off night by Michael Jordan and an injury to Richard Hamilton.
Jordan scored 12 points, 10 in the first half, and shot just 3-for-16 from the field. Hubert Davis scored 19, and Popeye Jones added 13 points and a season-high 14 rebounds.
Washington last had an eight-game winning streak late in the 1982-83 season.
Hamilton pulled his right groin in the first quarter and didn't return.
Mike Miller's 14 points led Orlando, which had a season-low in points.
Timberwolves 94, Hornets 89
MINNEAPOLIS Kevin Garnett scored 20 points and grabbed 14 rebounds as Minnesota snapped a three-game losing streak.
Chauncey Billups, playing in the place of the injured Terrell Brandon, scored 17 points and Joe Smith had 16 for the Wolves, who held off a late rally.
Baron Davis and Lee Nailon kept the Hornets in the game. Davis led Charlotte with 25 points while Nailon had 14 points, 12 of which came in the fourth quarter. David Wesley added 16 for the Hornets.
Cavaliers 86, Heat 81, OT
MIAMI Jumaine Jones had 18 points, including two free throws with 12.1 seconds left in overtime, and 15 rebounds.
Miami, just 3-17 in its last 20 games, appeared headed for victory in regulation before Jones and Andre Miller sank 3-pointers for the Cavaliers in the final 1:12. Miller had missed all nine of his field-goal attempts before that basket.
Zydrunas Ilgauskas scored 16 points and Wesley Person 13 for Cleveland, which is 3-0 against Miami this season. Chris Mihm added 12 points and had a key tip-in off a missed driving shot by Miller to give the Cavaliers an 84-81 lead with 41.6 seconds left in overtime.
Spurs 109, Nuggets 74
SAN ANTONIO The San Antonio Spurs won their 10th straight game and took over first place in the Western Conference as Tim Duncan had 21 points.
San Antonio, which connected on 59 percent of its field goal attempts, placed five players in double figures as David Robinson and Tony Parker scored 14 points apiece, while Charles Smith added 12.
San Antonio improved its record to 20-4, the best record in franchise history after 24 games. The 10-game winning streak is the longest in the NBA this season.
Trail Blazers 83, Pistons 81
PORTLAND, Ore. Rasheed Wallace had 22 points and nine rebounds as the Portland Trail Blazers shook off the home crowd's boos and held off a late rally.
Damon Stoudamire added 17 points and six assists and Dale Davis had a strong game with 13 points and 14 rebounds.
Jerry Stackhouse led the Pistons with 23 points. Clifford Robinson added 18 and Corliss Williamson had 14. Detroit has lost four in a row on a West Coast road trip that concludes Saturday night at Seattle.
The game was the Blazers' first at home since controversial remarks by guard Bonzi Wells were published in Sports Illustrated.
SuperSonics 111, Warriors 108, OT
OAKLAND, Calif. Rashard Lewis hit a follow shot with 13 seconds left in overtime and Gary Payton made a pair of free throws eight seconds later as the SuperSonics beat the Warriors for the ninth consecutive time.
Lewis finished with 24 and Payton had 20 for the Sonics, winners of their last three and four of five.
Jason Richardson and Larry Hughes each scored 24 points to lead the Warriors, who overcame a 22-point halftime deficit but still dropped to 2-2 under coach Brian Winters. Antwan Jamison had 17 points for Golden State while Danny Fortson had 17 rebounds to go with 13 points.
