Review lifted for Great American
A.M. Best has removed insurers controlled by Great American Insurance Co. from review and has affirmed the financial-strength rating of the Cincinnati-based insurance company. The rating reflects Great American's conservative capitalization and solid operating earnings, the rating agency said. The company benefited from a $70 million reallocation of capital from other insurance subsidiaries within American Financial Group Inc., it said.
American Financial is the umbrella company for the financial empire controlled by Reds owner Carl Lindner.
Chamber leader will retire
Judith Osborn will retire next month after seven years as executive director of the Over-the-Rhine Chamber of Commerce.
The chamber is entering a critical period because the city is expected to debate the neighborhood's master development plan in February, president Christopher Frutkin said.
Mr. Frutkin said the 500-plus-
member organization will seek an interim replacement as it searches for a full-time director.
