Man charged in 3 stabbing deaths

DAYTON, Ohio — A local man was charged Saturday in the deaths of three people whose upper torsos had been stabbed repeatedly, police said.

Darrell Ferguson, 23, faces charges of aggravated murder in the deaths of Arlie Fugate, 68; his wife, Mae, 69, and Thomas King, 61, Sgt. Dan Mauch said.

Sgt. Mauch declined to comment on Mr. Ferguson's connection to the victims.

The two separate attacks occurred within 24 hours.

Mr. King was found dead Wednesday in the dining room of his home about 8 p.m. Three televisions had been removed from his residence. The Fugates were found dead Thursday in their home when their son came over to salt their sidewalk.

Mr. Ferguson was arrested Friday and was being held at the Montgomery County Jail, Sgt. Mauch said.
