Turfway Park: Prather finalist

Enquirer staff and news services

Kris Prather, 23, who set records at Turfway Park and led the country in wins through the first half of 2001, is among four finalists for the Eclipse Award as outstanding apprentice jockey.

Prather is the third consecutive outstanding apprentice finalist to come from Turfway Park, following Greta Kuntzweiler (2000) and Daniel Coa (1999). Julian Pimental, Hector Rosario Jr. and Jeremy Rose are the other 2001 finalists.

        • Friday night's last five races were canceled because of unsafe track conditions.
