Wendy's opens Colerain outlet

COLERAIN TOWNSHIP The Wendy's restaurant just off I-275 at the Mount Healthy exit is now open for business.
The franchise, owned and managed by Maurice Murphy and Mark Satzger, is at 11400 Dallas Blvd. This is the fourth Wendy's location for the franchisees.
Restaurant hours are 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. daily. A variety of management and crew positions is available. Call the restaurant for information: 742-9999.
Gallery features local artists
FAIRFIELD The work of local artists and craftsmen is featured at The Kaleidoscope Gallery.
The shop, which opened in mid-December, exhibits original works of art in pastels, oils, watercolor and pencil. Commissioned portraits are on display. Other merchandise includes seasonal items, floral decor, carved wooden kitchen utensils, suncatchers, pottery, wind chimes, handmade soaps and jewelry. Special orders are welcome, owner Patty Brennan said.
The gallery is open 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday-Saturday at 4828 Holiday Drive, one mile north of Jungle Jim's, just off Hicks Boulevard. Information: 858-1555.
Electrical business opens in Hamilton
HAMILTON Eric Riffe has realized a lifelong dream and launched his own electrical business. The Florida native has about 10 years of electrical experience both there and in Ohio. Most recently, Mr. Riffe has been involved as an independent contractor on construction of The Great Indoors and Home Depot.
Riffe Electric is located at 733 Ross Ave. Hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Friday. Services include wiring for new construction, home automation, remodeling and networking. Mr. Riffe also does repairs and troubleshooting. Information: 868-1730 or 478-0095 (emergencies).
Shop specializes in comfortable shoes
SYMMES TOWNSHIP The Walking Place, specialist in comfortable shoes, is open at 11309 Montgomery Road in Harpers Station. The new shop is next door to T.J. Maxx and is a companion store to The Walking Place in Rookwood Commons.
Brands carried at The Walking Place include Mephisto, Birkenstock, Naot and Dansko. Staff will fit customers with an eye to anatomical correctness and orthopedic support.

Deli restaurant opens downtown
Silverglade's on Fourth brings the company's Findlay Market deli specialties to the table. The new deli restaurant opened Dec. 3 at 231 W. Fourth St.
The menu includes sandwiches and different hot specialty each day. Breakfast customers can choose among muffins and danish pastry to accompany their coffee or tea. Silverglade's hours are 7:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday-Friday and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. Information: 564-0600.
Gold Star Chili adds locations
One new and one relocated Gold Star Chili restaurant are opening this month. Both restaurants launched their service with a Team Takeover, a preview meal for members of a community group to honor that organization's achievements.
The new Gold Star at 21 E. Galbraith Road in Hartwell opened Saturday after holding a Team Takeover honoring Hartwell School.
A new freestanding Gold Star restaurant at 470 Nilles Road in Fairfield replaces the store at 5080 Pleasant Ave. The new restaurant has a drive-through, a larger dining room and more parking, company officials said.
The Fairfield restaurant opens at 10 a.m. Jan. 18 after holding a Team Takeover for the Fairfield Fire Department, which raised over $72,000 for New York firefighters after the events of Sept. 11.
Both restaurants are hiring. Applicants should contact owner David Dahoud regarding positions at the Hartwell restaurant and Jerry Hiresh about employment at the Fairfield restaurant. Gold Star Chili restaurants are open from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.
