Food in cupboard, but baby starves
The Associated Press
COLUMBUS Baby formula was stocked in the home and doting relatives who lived nearby checked in often, yet a 6-month-old girl nicknamed Miss Flo starved to death.
Flordina Andrews' father, Chad Casey Andrews, 23, has been charged with murder and her Dec. 31 death has stunned relatives. They say the baby was healthy in the weeks before she died and the family provided a strong support system for the single dad.
A grand jury this week is to consider additional charges against him.
A coroner ruled the baby died of dehydration and malnutrition, receiving little to no food or water in the days before her death. Relatives say she became sick a few days earlier, her body rejecting food and water that Mr. Andrews fed her.
