T'Wolves stop Jordan, Wizards
Garnett and Billups lead the way

WASHINGTON — Kevin Garnett had 31 points, seven assists and six rebounds Saturday night as the Timberwolves followed up their 18-point victory over the Lakers with a 108-100 win over the Washington Wizards.
Chauncey Billups scored 19 of his season-high 29 points in the first quarter, giving the Timberwolves an early lead they never relinquished. Billups also ended the Wizards' last hope of a comeback with the game's final points, a 3-pointer with 42.6 seconds remaining.
Michael Jordan scored 35 points and was a thrill to watch in the first half as he made his first flashy dunk of the season and toyed with Garnett on three straight possessions. But Jordan scored only nine points and went just 4-of-13 from the field in the second half, finishing the night 14-for-30 with five turnovers in 40 minutes.
Celtics 115, Hawks 91
ATLANTA — Paul Pierce scored 31 points and Antoine Walker added 23 for Boston.
The Celtics, who improved to 14-1 when they score 100 points, had lost two straight to Atlanta and entered the game with just two wins in their last seven on the road.
Dion Glover led the Hawks with 19 points. Shareef Abdur-Rahim had 17 points and 14 rebounds.
Pistons 104, Hornets 76
AUBURN HILLS, Mich. — Jerry Stackhouse scored 27 points, and Cliff Robinson added 21 to help the Pistons end a three-game slide.
The 28-point victory matched Detroit's biggest of the year and was just the Pistons' third win in 15 games. It ended the Hornets' season-high three-game winning streak.
Reserve Corliss Williamson added 17 points for the Pistons, while Ben Wallace had 16 rebounds.
David Wesley scored a team-high 14 points for the Hornets.
Nets 91 Magic 85
ORLANDO, Fla. — Reserve Lucious Harris scored 20 points, and Jason Kidd led a late charge as New Jersey won its fourth straight game.
Kidd had six of his 14 points in the final 3:56 as the Nets closed the game with a 14-5 run. He also had 10 rebounds and six assists.
Kidd's two free throws put the Nets up 81-80, and he followed with a layup on New Jersey's next possession. He hit another pair of free throws with 16.9 seconds.
Tracy McGrady had 17 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists for Orlando.
Bulls 106, Lakers 104, OT
CHICAGO — In one of the most violent and stunning games of the NBA season, the Bulls shocked the Lakers after Shaquille O'Neal was ejected for fighting.
O'Neal flew into an uncontrollable rage when he was fouled hard late in the fourth quarter, throwing two roundhouse punches at Bulls center Brad Miller — one of which connected as Miller had his back turned.
O'Neal faces an automatic one-game suspension for throwing a punch, and the penalty will likely be longer given the amount of anger he vented and the size of the ensuing melee.
The Bulls, with the NBA's worst record (7-29), dealt the Lakers their most inexcusable — and costliest — loss.
Ron Mercer led Chicago with 28 points. Derek Fisher made seven 3-pointers and scored a career-high 28 for Los Angeles, while Kobe Bryant added 26.
Grizzlies 97, Jazz 95, 2OT
SALT LAKE CITY — Jason Williams scored 22 points, and Pau Gasol had 18 as Memphis beat Utah in double OT.
The outcome wasn't decided until Utah's John Starks threw the ball away with 4 seconds remaining and the Jazz trying to start a fastbreak that could have produced an electrifying end to a roller-coaster night.
The Grizzlies beat the Jazz for only the second time in 24 tries.
Karl Malone led the Jazz with 23 points, but didn't score in either overtime period.
Bucks 102, Knicks 97
NEW YORK — Ray Allen scored a season-high 37 points, including a franchise record-tying eight 3-pointers for the Bucks.
The Knicks scored a season-low 12 points in the first quarter and extended their losing skid to a season-worst five games.
Allan Houston scored a career-best 44 points and led New York's attempt to rally from a 64-40 deficit midway through the third quarter. The Knicks cut that 24-point margin to two.
Houston scored 24 points in the fourth quarter and the Knicks pulled within 86-84 on Kurt Thomas' basket with 3:36 to play.
The Bucks answered by opening a nine-point lead, but the Knicks again pulled within two — at 99-97 on Houston's 3-pointer with 20 seconds left.
After Allen hit a free throw, Othella Harrington missed a 3-point attempt with 7 seconds left.
Rockets 98, Nuggets 86
HOUSTON — Eddie Griffin tied his career high with 25 points on 10-of-11 shooting and blocked five shots to lead the Rockets.
Kenny Thomas added 15 points, and Steve Francis had 14 points and seven assists for the Rockets.
Voshon Lenard scored 20 points, and James Posey added 19 to lead the Nuggets, who lost their sixth game in seven outings. Nick Van Exel, the team's leading scorer with a 23.6-point average, missed his first nine shots from the field and managed only four points on 2-of-14 shooting.
Mavericks 111, Pacers 102
DALLAS — Dirk Nowitzki had 31 points and Steve Nash added 29 points — 15 in the fourth quarter— as Dallas rallied from a 15-point third-quarter deficit.
Eduardo Najera added 13 points and 13 rebounds off the bench for the Mavericks, winners of 13 of their last 15. Nash added 11 assists and Nowitzki 11 rebounds.
Reggie Miller and Jalen Rose had 18 points each to lead the Pacers.
Suns 108, Heat 74
PHOENIX — Shawn Marion had 21 points in under three quarters, and the Suns ended a five-game losing streak
Reserve Eddie House had 15 points for the Heat, who shot 32.6 percent (30-of-92) — and that was with House making a jumper and Mike James sinking a 3-pointer in the final 30 seconds.
The Heat's 28 points in the first half and 10 points in the second quarter were record lows for a Suns opponent.
Brian Grant scored 14 points, Alonzo Mourning 10 for Miami.
