Pylypuik joins Cyclones as new president/COO
Enquirer staff and news services
With less than 10 weeks left in the regular season, Pat Pylypuik was named the new president/chief operating officer Wednesday of the Cincinnati Cyclones of the East Coast Hockey League.
Pylypuik, 31, replaces Tim Macy, who said he will continue to work with the team through the end of the season, at least, to help with the transition.
Macy said he decided in July he would remain on only an interim basis. That wasn't publicly announced as Macy tried to promote the new version of the Cyclones, who were under new ownership and back in the ECHL this season. He said Wednesday he didn't want to make a long-term commitment to the team because he wanted to pursue other sports ventures. He declined to disclose those ventures.
Pylypuik served as the general manager of the Toledo Storm for seven years and as vice president for two years. Bringing him in now, said Macy, allows Pylypuik a better chance to revamp the team and work on season tickets for next season, after the Cyclones got such a late start before this season.
