        David W. Dorton has been named an associate at Wood, Herron & Evans, L.L.P. Mr. Dorton is involved in all phases of the firm's practice, with a concentration in mechanical technologies. He was technical adviser. Before joining Wood, Herron & Evans, he was a mechanical engineer in several industries, including automotive. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and the University of Dayton School of Law.

        There are some exceptions that allow you to withdraw funds from a traditional or Roth IRA before you reach age 59. They include: paying for certain types of unreimbursed medical expenses; if you become disabled before age 59; if you're the beneficiary of another IRA owner who has died; buying, building or rebuilding a first home; and paying for certain types of higher-education expenses.
