Kroger adds health cards
Kroger Co. Friday said it will begin accepting Pfizer Inc.'s Pfizer Share Care and Novartis AG's Novartis Care Card discount cards as they become available to customers.
The Cincinnati-based grocer said its pharmacies already are accepting Glaxosmithkline Plc's Glaxo discount card.
Last week, Walgreen Co. said it planned to accept the Glaxo Orange Card and Novartis Care Card.
Cinergy affirms market forecast
Cinergy Corp. said Friday that it is comfortable with Wall Street expectations that it will earn between $2.80 and $2.85 a share this year.
Thursday the utility holding company reported 2001 earnings of $2.75 a share, in line with analyst expectations. Shares of Cinergy closed Friday up a nickel at $32.87.
Roto-Rooter plans campaign
Roto-Rooter will launch a national print advertising campaign this month, designed by Cincinnati's Freedman, Gibson & White. The campaign will appear in a variety of national magazines until August. It will feature the company's well-known jingle for 50 years.
Broker accused of theft
The FBI is investigating claims that a Cleveland investment broker may have stolen as much as $100 million from his clients.
Federal investigators are looking into reports that Frank D. Gruttadauria, who was last seen Jan. 11, took from client accounts and inflated their value by as much as $250 million. No charges have been filed. Mr. Gruttadauria worked for Lehman Brothers.
