P&G closes down plant in Kenya

The Cincinnati Enquirer

Procter & Gamble Co. has shuttered a plant in Kenya that makes Always pads and Vicks drops.

But P&G officials still won't say how many plants they have closed overseas as part of a global restructuring.

In North America, the company has closed or sold nearly a dozen plants or major manufacturing lines.

The plant in Nairobi officially ended production in late December. Production was moved to a plant in Egypt for Always and one in Nigeria for Vicks.

P&G still operates several plants in East Africa, a spokeswoman said.
