Man shot dead; another wounded

The Cincinnati Enquirer

One man was killed and another wounded in a shooting Thursday night near an Avondale intersection.

The shooting occurred at about 6:30 p.m. in the 3400 block of Burnett Avenue near the intersection of Northern Avenue, police said. When officers arrived, they found one man in the street with a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim — Michael Tiller, 20, no address available — was taken to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival, a nursing supervisor said.

A second man — Steve Morris, in his 20s, no address available — walked into the hospital a short time later. He had unspecified wounds and was listed in stable condition, a nursing supervisor said.

Police were looking for a man who was seen leaving the scene. He was described as black, in his late teens, wearing black clothing and a gray hat.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Cincinnati police at 352-3542 or Crime Stoppers at 352-3040.
