Ducks again blow late lead, settle for tie

        For the second straight game, the first-place Cincinnati Mighty Ducks blew a late lead and settled for a tie. Brett Hauer scored with 14 seconds left in the third period to lift the Milwaukee Admirals to a 3-3 tie with the Mighty Ducks Sunday in the AHL at the Gardens. Saturday, Cleveland tied the game 1-1 with a goal in the final minute of regulation.

        Dave Roche, Steve Brule and Jarrett Smith scored for the Ducks, who ended their five-game homestand 2-0-2-1 and are 4-0-3-1 in their last eight.

        Ilja Bryzgalov stopped 28 shots for Cincinnati, which has been involved in overtime five of its last six games. Chris Mason, a former Mighty Duck, made 43 saves for the Admirals, 0-4-1-0 in their last five. The Ducks begin a five-game road trip in Milwaukee Tuesday. They return home Feb.16.

        NOTE: Center Sean Avery was recalled by the Detroit Red Wings. Avery, 21, has 14 goals, six assists and 79 penalty minutes in 33 games with Cincinnati this season. In 14 games with Detroit, the second-year pro has two assists and 25 penalty minutes.
