LEBANON A nurse awaiting trial on charges that she stole drugs from an Indiana nursing home now faces similar charges in Warren County.
Michelle Ellis, 33, of Batesville, Ind., was indicted Monday for felony theft of drugs involving a Jan. 11 incident at Mason Christian Village on Western Row Road.
Authorities allege Ms. Ellis, a licensed practical nurse, took drugs, including the painkillers percoset and vicadin, from the drug cart for her personal use.
Prosecutor Tim Oliver said as part of her duties at Mason Christian Village Ms. Ellis had the key to the drug cart.
It was unclear Monday how long Ms. Ellis was employed at the nursing home or whether the administrators knew about her troubles in Indiana. Christian Village officials were not available for comment.
Last August, Ms. Ellis was charged with delivery of a narcotic drug, possession of a controlled substance and theft. She was accused of stealing morphine patches from the Morning Breeze nursing home, where she was employed.
Detective Dennis Luken, of the Warren County Drug Task Force, said Ms. Ellis held nursing licenses in Ohio and Indiana.
