Three in I-275 wreck still in hospitals
Deadly smash-up remains under investigation
The Cincinnati Enquirer
SHARONVILLE Three people injured in a crash involving at least six vehicles on Interstate 275 on Thursday afternoon were still hospitalized Friday night, according to Sharonville police.
One man 23-year-old Richard R. Harley of Loveland was killed in the crash after he lost control of his Pontiac Trans Am at about 3 p.m. Thursday in the westbound lanes, crossed the median, and slammed head-on into a tanker truck.
At least four other vehicles were involved, according to Sharonville Sgt. Mark Preuss.
A passenger in Mr. Harley's car 23-year-old Rachel Misciasci of Loveland was in critical condition Friday night at Bethesda North Hospital.
A woman from another car involved, 46-year-old Cindy O'Brien of Miamisburg, was in serious condition Friday night at University Hospital Medical center.
The driver of the tanker truck, 41-year-old Steve Morton of Moores Hill, Ind., was in fair condition at University.
Sgt. Preuss said police originally feared that the tanker truck had a full load of sulfuric acid, but said the tank turned out to be empty.
The crash is still under investigation, Sgt. Preuss said.
