Mulch, firewood sale: Wood priced at $50 a cord, $25 half cord and mulch at $10 a truck load is being sold 8 a.m.-noon today by the Cincinnati Park Board at the northwest corner of Este Avenue and Center Hill Avenue in Winton Hills. Wood is cut to firewood length but is unsplit. Mulch loading assistance will be provided. Gas-powered chain saws and wood splitters are not permitted in the wood yard. House history: The Cincinnati Preservation Association will cover the basics of researching the history of your old house 2-4 p.m. Feb. 24 at the Wyoming City Hall. Margo Warminski, a historic preservation consultant, will talk about the techniques for unlocking the secrets of a home's past, including census records, maps, city directories, newspapers, tax records, deeds and building permits.
