Grizzlies paddle Ducks 4-2

Ryan Jardine and Jim Montgomery scored second-period power-play goals just more than three minutes apart to lift the Utah Grizzlies to a 4-2 victory over the Cincinnati Mighty Ducks Friday night in the AHL at the Gardens. Niko Kapanen scored what proved to be the winning goal in the third period and added an assist for the Grizzlies, who improved to 9-4-2-0 through the first 15 games of a 17-game, 33-day road trip.
Bruce Richardson and Yuri Butsayev scored for Cincinnati, winless in its last four games (0-3-1-0). Gregg Naumenko made 25 saves for the Ducks, who fell to 0-2-3-1 in their last six home games.

NOTE: The Ducks called up left wing Ben Keup from Class AA Dayton of the ECHL. Keup, 25, had 14 goals, 17 assists and 43 penalty minutes in 40 games with Dayton this season. The 6-foot-1, 200-pounder was scoreless in four AHL games with Cleveland this season.
