Bryant, who scored 11 of his 21 points in the fourth quarter, took his shot over Charlotte's George Lynch and fell backward to the floor as he watched it sail through the net for the Lakers' sixth straight win over Charlotte.
Bryant's teammates ran over to pick him up and celebrate as Charlotte's Baron Davis, who scored a game-high 37 points, kicked the basketball high up into the air and tossed his headband across the floor in disgust.
Shaquille O'Neal scored 31 points to lead the Lakers. Robert Horry added 12.
Pistons 80, Raptors 72
TORONTO Clifford Robinson scored 21 points and former Raptor Corliss Williamson had 12 of his 17 points in the fourth quarter as the Pistons set a franchise record with their seventh straight road victory.
Ben Wallace added 10 rebounds and five blocks for the Pistons, winner of five straight and 12 of 14 overall.
Antonio Davis had 17 points and 13 rebounds for the Raptors, who have lost seven straight since Vince Carter went on the injured list with a strained quadriceps. Toronto is 2-15 without Carter over the last two seasons.
Cavaliers 103, Pacers 93
INDIANAPOLIS Andre Miller scored 27 points and Ricky Davis added 20 as the Cleveland Cavaliers spoiled the debut of the new-look Pacers.
The Cavaliers led by five early in the fourth before a 16-8 run put them ahead 95-82. Davis and Miller combined for 10 of those points as Cleveland ended a two-game losing streak.
Wesley Person scored 17, Lamond Murray had 15 and Tyrone Hill added 10 points and 17 rebounds for Cleveland.
New addition Brad Miller started at center, made four of his first seven shots and led the Pacers with 21 points before fouling out with under a minute left.
Nets 115, Knicks 93
EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. Jason Kidd had 17 points, 11 assists and seven rebounds and single-handedly halted New York's rally from a 29-point deficit.
Rookie Richard Jefferson had a career-high 22 points and Kerry Kittles had 20 as the Eastern Conference-leading Nets had six players in double figures in winning their fifth straight game and sending the Knicks to their fourth straight loss.
It was the Nets' third lopsided win this season over the Knicks, who are in last place in the Atlantic Division. It also gave New Jersey a five-game winning streak over New York, the first time that's happened since an 11-game run from 1983-86.
Bulls 91, Suns 83
CHICAGO Jalen Rose scored 22 points, Marcus Fizer added 21 and Tyson Chandler added 16 points and eight rebounds for the Bulls, who are 2-0 since adding Rose in a trade earlier this week.
Rose was 13-for-24 from the field for 36 points in his Bulls debut Wednesday night, but he struggled shooting against the Suns, going only 7-of-19. But he had a solid all-around game, getting four assists, four rebounds plus a pair of blocks and steals.
Stephon Marbury had 27 points and rookie Joe Johnson acquired from Boston on Wednesday tied his career high with 23 points and set a new one with 11 rebounds.
Bucks 116, Warriors 112

Allen had 28 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists and Sam Cassell added 25 points to lead the Bucks to their fifth straight victory against Golden State.
Jason Richardson shot 16-of-22 for a career-high 35 points and Antawn Jamison added 23 points and 11 rebounds, but it wasn't enough as Golden State lost its fifth straight and 20th in 23 games.
SuperSonics 99, Hawks 96
SEATTLE Gary Payton and Jerome James had baskets and Desmond Mason hit two free throws in the final minute.
The Sonics won for the fourth time in five games since losing their starting power forward, Vin Baker, with three dislocated toes on his left foot.
Mason was fouled deliberately by Dion Glover and made his free throws with 12.2 seconds left after Atlanta's Jason Terry made a 3-point shot with 13.1 seconds left. Shareef Abdur-Rahim of the Hawks missed a 3-point attempt over Payton in the final seconds.
Payton led Seattle with 21 points and eight assists, while Brent Barry and Mason each finished with 17 points. For Atlanta, Terry scored 32 points on 12-for-25 shooting and had eight assists.
