COLUMBUS, Ohio — Mike Levy of The (Cleveland) Plain Dealer has been chosen Photographer of the Year for 2001, the fourth time he has won the award presented by the Ohio News Photographers Association.

        Finishing second was Steven Herppich of The Cincinnati Enquirer, with Michael E. Keating of the Enquirer taking third place. Mr. Keating also placed first in a number of other categories.

        One hundred thirty-six photographers from across the state submitted 1,868 entries in the 51st annual news photography contest judged Saturday in Columbus.

        Judges were Marci Nighswander, professor of visual communicastion at Ohio University, Bill Wade, staff photographer at the Pittsburgh Post Gazette and Ed Reinke, Associated Press photographer from Louisville, Ky.
