Four teens indicted in man's beating death
The Cincinnati Enquirer
COVINGTON A Kenton County grand jury Friday indicted four teen-agers in connection with the baseball bat beating death last fall of Blas Carrasco Diaz.
Mr. Carrasco Diaz, 34, who emigrated from the Mexican state of Chihuahua, was beaten in the head and chest with a baseball bat Sept. 10 at his Latonia apartment on West 34th Street. He died Sept. 24.
Ernie Sizemore, 16, of Erlanger is charged with first-degree manslaughter and will be tried as an adult.
Three teen girls, Desiree Ballman, Tabitha Hurst and Sara Sprecker, are charged with facilitation of first-degree manslaughter and will also be tried as adults.
Police have said the assault occurred when the teen-agers went to the victim's apartment, apparently to steal money and gold jewelry.
