OSU's Arden arrested for driving under influence
Enquirer news services
COLUMBUS Ohio State redshirt freshman linebacker Redgie Arden was arrested in his hometown of Ironton early Saturday for driving under the influence, university spokesman Steve Snapp said.
Police in Ironton and Arden's mother, Sally Arden, declined to comment early Sunday.
Snapp said it was too soon to speculate on the penalties Arden, 20, could face from Ohio State. Coach Jim Tressel was out of town and unavailable for comment, he said.
Tressel suspended quarterback Steve Bellisari for one game last season after he was arrested for drunken driving. He was reinstated the following week, but never played in a 26-20 victory over Michigan.
