After glazing the ham or roasting the lamb, mashing the potatoes, steaming the asparagus and herding the family into the dining room, who has time to think about baking rolls for the holiday meal?

        Servatii Pastry Shop will do the baking for you, of course. The bakery offers a big basket of roll varieties, including Parkerhouse, seeded knots, plain knots and assorted knots. “Butterbits” rolls ($1.85 per eight) are my favorite, though: Stately and big-shouldered, with just enough flaky crust, they are yolk-yellow inside, break-apart tender and have a buttery-rich, yeasty-sweet flavor.

        Servatii's Butterbits aren't quite decadent — but the rolls are more than special enough to accompany your best home-cooked meal.
