Vasectomy cost topic of lawsuit
By Marie McCain
The Cincinnati Enquirer
A Golf Manor woman is suing her former fiance for more than $50,000 because the Lockland man has allegedly refused to repay her for the surgery that reversed his vasectomy.
Filed in Hamilton County Common Pleas court, Sheri D. Lewis' lawsuit contends that Rickey Logan ended their relationship shortly after he'd recovered from the surgery in August 2001.
Her suit states that because of poor credit, Mr. Logan couldn't finance his own surgery and asked his then-fiancee to foot the bill which ended up being $15,650.
Ms. Lewis alleges that Mr. Logan agreed to repay the money.
The couple were scheduled to get married in September but, according to the suit, Mr. Logan broke off their engagement just before the wedding.
A short time later Sept. 28 Ms. Lewis learned she was pregnant and believed the baby to be Mr. Logan's.
By this time, the suit alleges, Mr. Logan had become involved with another woman.
In November, Ms. Lewis suffered a miscarriage. She attributed it to the outrageous, irresponsible and neglectful actions of Mr. Logan, the suit states.
About a week later, Mr. Logan allegedly told Ms. Lewis that since they were no longer in a relationship, he would not pay the entire cost of the surgery.
