You saw him make history on national television Feb. 3, conducting the Boston Pops at the Louisiana Superdome, the first time an orchestra performed at the Super Bowl.
Keith Lockhart, Boston Pops conductor and former music director of the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra (1992-99), will return to guest-conduct the Chamber Orchestra in the 2002-03 season.

He hasn't appeared locally since he left in 1999 to add the Utah Symphony to his Boston Pops post.
I'm very happy about it, and he's very happy about it, says Mischa Santora, Mr. Lockhart's successor at the Chamber Orchestra, who announces his third season today.
Mr. Lockhart has not yet determined the program for his concerts on Jan. 26-27.
He began his career in Cincinnati in 1990, with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra as assistant and, subsequently, associate conductor. In 1995 he was named 20th conductor of the Boston Pops.
Now in his seventh season, Mr. Lockhart has conducted more than 500 Pops concerts; made 44 TV specials, including 27 new shows for PBS' Evening at Pops (which has a viewing audience of more than 39 million), led 16 national tours, two Far East tours and appeared twice with the Boston Pops at Carnegie Hall. He records for RCA Victor.
