Weight lifting, right diet can pad your seat

        Question: I know this sounds crazy, but I want to increase the size of my rear end. I sit in front of a computer all day and my fanny is slowly leaving me.

        Answer: Your question isn't crazy at all. I work with people all the time on reshaping (or in your case adding to) their physiques.

        I think it is great that your goal isn't to be paper thin and on a fad diet. If you like being a little larger — and your size isn't a result of high levels of body fat that put you at risk for obesity, heart disease, etc., then go for it.

        Be sure to get more active and eat lean cuts of protein, such as white meat poultry and fish; complex carbohydrates, such as oatmeal, sweet potatoes and brown rice; fibrous carbohydrates, such as broccoli, asparagus and green beans, and good fats, such as olive, safflower and flaxseed oil.

        These foods are high in nutrients and provide ample amounts of energy to fuel your workouts and the ability to recover from physical activity more efficiently.

        To prevent your fanny from leaving, try performing squats, leg presses and lunges to firm up and build the rear end, with some leg extensions and leg curls thrown in to balance out the routine.

        Try using fairly heavy weight to get some size, and do two-three sets of eight-15 repetitions. Push yourself, and don't forget to work your upper body as well to keep your physique balanced.

        I recommend that you go to your local gym to have a fitness professional show you how to perform these exercises safely and with proper technique.

        Work hard, use great lifting technique, stay health-conscious and you will reach the end that you desire.
