Cincinnati City Council will ask the Clean Ohio Council for $1 million to help buy a cement distribution site along the Ohio River in Sayler Park.

        The $1 million, from the state agency responsible for awarding state “brownfield” cleanup money, would help the city buy the Lone Star Industries site.

        Under a plan being considered by the Finance Committee, the city would contribute $400,000.

        Lone Star bought the property in 2000 for almost $1.4 million. Residents oppose the facility on the Ohio River.
