Bride accused of poisoning husband to get insurance
The Associated Press
COLUMBUS A woman admitted she tried to kill her husband with an animal tranquilizer in hopes of collecting on his $250,000 Marine Corps life-insurance policy, police said.
Christina Ngoc Combs, 29, has been charged with attempted aggravated murder. She is accused of twice slipping her husband, Staff Sgt. David Combs, 26, doses of the drug Ketamine while the couple was en route to his new assignment outside Cleveland.
Police said the trip was part of an extended honeymoon for the couple, who were married a few weeks ago.
Mrs. Combs is being held at the Delaware county jail on $500,000 bail.
