Sign up for tuition-savings plan
By The Cincinnati Enquirer
Monday is the deadline to enroll in Kentucky's Affordable Prepaid Tuition (KAPT) program.
Through the program, a tax-exempt savings plan for a child's college education, money is invested on a schedule based on the child's age and reflecting current tuition rates at public and private colleges and universities.
Benefits can be used at any institution of higher education in the country. But payment of full tuition and fees is guaranteed at any public college or university in Kentucky.
Another enrollment period will be held in the fall, said Kentucky State Treasurer Jonathan Miller, who implemented the program.More than 3,550 Kentucky residents are enrolled.
For information, call (888) 919-KAPT or go online at www.kytreasury.com.
