Serena ousted; Capriati moves to semifinals

CHARLESTON, S.C. Third-seeded Serena Williams lost 2-6, 6-4, 7-5 to Patty Schnyder in a quarterfinal match Friday at the Family Circle Cup. Top-seeded Jennifer Capriati beat Anastasia Myskina 6-0, 7-5 to set up a semifinal match against Schnyder.
Williams had a match point in the third set at 5-4 but couldn't close it out. Schnyder went on to win that game, then broke Williams to go up 6-5. Serving for the match, Schnyder fell behind 15-40, before winning four straight points.
MONTE CARLO: Fourth-seeded Tim Henman beat Australian Open champion Thomas Johansson 2-6, 6-4, 7-6 (4) to reach the semifinals. He faces clay-court specialist and former French Open champion Carlos Moya, who edged Marat Safin 6-1, 2-6, 7-6 (4). Sebastien Grosjean, who beat Albert Costa 6-4, 6-2, plays Juan Carlos Ferrero, who defeated Tommy Haas 6-3, 6-1.
