160 total yards impress Morriss
The Associated Press
LEXINGTON Artose Pinner had 160 total yards to lead the White squad to a 16-0 win over the Blue squad in Kentucky's annual Blue-White spring scrimmage Saturday night.
Pinner scored the game's first touchdown when he took a short pass from backup quarterback Dan Lumley and raced 66 yards for a score.
White-team Quarterback Jared Lorenzen (Highlands) went 11-of-22 for 175 yards and a touchdown in the game. He also threw two interceptions, both to safety Quentus Cumby.
Pinner caught three passes for 114 yards and also rushed 11 times for a game-high 46 yards.
Coach Guy Morriss has been impressed this spring with the senior running back from Hopkinsville.
We would like to put the ball in Pinner's hands 20 to 25 times a game, Morriss said. We just need to give him the ball and get out of the way.
Blue quarterback Shane Boyd went 6-of-10 for 57 yards without a touchdown pass or an interception.
Defensive tackle De wayne Robertson led the White squad with a sack and two tackles for losses.
The White defense gave up only 65 total yards.
