Wet weather delays work on Cox Road
WEST CHESTER TWP. Rainy weather over the weekend delayed the start Monday of a seven-month construction project that will close Cox Road at Tylersville Road, the Butler County Engineer's Office announced.
The closure on Cox now scheduled to begin April 29 will stretch from north of Tylersville Road to the Voice of America Park entrance. Cox will be widened from two to five lanes, including a center turn lane, from Tylersville Road north to Hamilton-Mason Road.
Cox Road still will be open to the park entrance and Service Center Drive from Hamilton-Mason Road.
The $4.3 million county project is expected to be complete by mid-November.
