LEBANON A South Lebanon man accused of molesting a 14-year-old boy that he befriended at a local park now faces possible additional felony charges involving other children.
A Warren County grand jury indicted William Russell Bill Vandel Monday on one count of importuning, two counts of unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and four counts of disseminating matter harmful to juveniles.
Sheriff's detectives arrested the 51-year-old man April 8 on charges that he performed oral sex on a 14-year-old who frequented Mr. Vandel's Broadway Street apartment with a group of other boys.
Prosecutor Tim Oliver said Mr. Vandel also is accused of soliciting another boy, whose complaints to his mother sparked the investigation.
The disseminating charges involve adult movies Mr. Vandel shared with four boys, including two under age 13, Mr. Oliver said.
At the time of his arrest, Mr. Vandel who served four years in prison in the 1980s for abducting a 14-year-old Clermont County boy for sexual purposes admitted that he had been having sex with young boys for at least three decades, sheriff's detectives said.
Authorities are now trying to identify other possible victims of Mr. Vandel, who has lived in Milford and Loveland and has used the names William Lee Hill, Bill Brown, Timothy Ward and William Vancel.
Anyone with information can call Detective Larry Sims at 695-1280.
Mr. Vandel remains jailed, with bond set at $50,000.
