'Vampire' jailed; got vial of blood
A 22-year-old Delhi Township man who'd been out of prison for only three weeks was returned to jail after his probation officer said he admitted obtaining a vial of blood from a hospital because he believes he is a vampire.
Jack Thompson, who was released from prison March 29 after serving three years for rape, was jailed Friday.
His probation officer, Ed Tullius, said Mr. Thompson told him on April 15 he was given a vial of blood from a nurse from Holmes Hospital.
He stated to her that he likes to drink blood and he is a vampire, Mr. Tullius' affidavit stated.
Officials at University Hospital, which oversees Holmes, refused to comment on the incident, saying that it would violate patient confidentiality.
Mr. Thompson has been charged with receiving stolen property, a misdemeanor.
