Warren-Butler Recreation Notes


Family Fishing Derby

        MASON — The Mason Parks and Recreation Department's Family Fishing Derby takes place from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. May 11 at Pine Hill Lakes Park off Kings Mill Road.

        A Mason fishing pass is required. Prizes will be awarded.

Sand volleyball team sign-ups

        MAINEVILLE — Registrations are being taken for sand volleyball teams at Tabby's American Grill and Bar, 2920 U.S. 22/Ohio 3.

        The recreational league is for coed six-player teams. Games begin May 19.

        Cost is $30 per player, which covers referee fees and includes a T-shirt.

        Registration deadline is May 1.

Elks 5K Derby Dash

        LEBANON — The Lebanon Elks Lodge No. 422 5K Derby Dash takes place at 9 a.m. May 4 at the lodge, 29 E. Mulberry St.

        Cost for entries postmarked by Saturday is $12, which includes a T-shirt. Entries may be mailed to: Vickie Hollinger, Race Director, 1899 Shawhan Road, Morrow, Ohio 45152.

        Race day registration is $15, but T-shirts are not guaranteed. Information: 932-1908.

Youth volleyball

        MASON — Sports Express, 5280 Ohio 741, is taking registrations for summer youth volleyball leagues.

        The leagues, for players in grades 3-8, cost $150 per team.

        There are also openings for weeklong summer youth volleyball camps (grades 3-8). Cost is $80 per person.

Walk for life

        LEBANON — The inaugural Crisis Pregnancy Center for HOPE Life Walk takes place at 9 a.m. Saturday at Countryside YMCA, 1699 Deerfield Road.

        Proceeds from the 1.5-mile walk benefit the center, a nonprofit agency that offers counseling, parenting information, baby and maternity clothing and other services.

        Sponsorship checks may be mailed to: Crisis Pregnancy for HOPE, 12 W. South St., Lebanon, OH 45036.

Summer Y camps

       & FAIRFIELD — Registration is being taken for four summer camps at the Fair field YMCA, 5220 Bibury.

        The camps are for children ages 3-15. Costs range from $50-$75 per child.

        The Y is also taking registrations for T-ball leagues for children ages 4-7. Cost is $10 per child for Y members and $60 for nonmembers.
