NewCath grad signs with Chiefs
Georgetown College (Ky.) quarterback Eddie Eviston (Newport Central Catholic) has signed a free agent contract with the Kansas City Chiefs.
Eviston, a three-time NAIA national Player of the Year, led the Tigers to three consecutive national championship game appearances and two NAIA titles.
Georgetown was 41-1 in games Eviston started. Eviston had 12,703 yards of total offense to rank third all time in the NAIA. He completed 695 of 1,138 passes for 10,885 yards and 103 touchdowns, and rushed for 1,818 yards and 42 touchdowns.
Eviston was named three-time NAIA Academic All-American and was a 2001 College Football Hall of Fame Scholar Athlete. He was one of 16 recipients of the honor nationwide in all levels of college football.
