Voting problems investigated
Sheriff Charles Cox began an investigation of the Nov. 9 election because 29 of the county's 82 precincts ran out of ballots. He was asked to investigate after a member of the Elections Board told Miami County Prosecutor Gary Nasal of allegations that at least one person was allowed to cast a vote at the election office the day following the election.
The three-month investigation looked at elections dating to the 1996 presidential election.
Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell has placed the county's elections operations now in the hands of a new elections board and new administrators on state oversight.
