A 10-year-old Northside boy was hospitalized Thursday after he was hit by a car on Hamilton Avenue near his home.
Darius Riley of Hamilton Avenue was in serious condition late Thursday in Children's Hospital Medical Center. Police said the boy was struck by a southbound vehicle as he was crossing Hamilton Avenue west to east, south of Springlawn Avenue.
The 10-year-old was not in a crosswalk when the accident occurred about 3:30 p.m., police said.
The driver of the vehicle, Janet Webb, 45, of West Fork Road, Northside, was not injured.
