LEBANON — Warren County Commissioner Mike Kilburn has raised more than twice as much money as the other two candidates for his seat, according to campaign finance reports filed this week.

        Many of the contributors to Mr. Kilburn's $11,167 total are county employees, although Corwin Nixon, a retired state representative, is easily the biggest donor at $1,500. Mr. Nixon is manager of raceway operations at the Lebanon Raceway and a trustee of Bethesda Hospital.

        Daryl Dunn, a Lebanon real estate agent who is challenging Mr. Kilburn in the GOP primary, has raised $4,126. More than half of that was from the Realtors Political Action Committee and the rest from family and Lebanon residents.

        Carolyn Tepe, who has no opponent May 7 for the Democratic nomination, has raised $5,200. Virtually all of it was from a plumbers and pipe fitters union PAC.

        The county prosecutor's office is well-represented in Mr. Kilburn's finance report, with Tim Oliver, Rachel Hutzel and Bruce McGary all attending a February fund-raiser.

        Other contributors include Mitch Bonham, director of child support services; John Lazares, Warren County Schools superintendent; Mike Virelli, acting deputy superintendent of Mental Retardation and Developmental Disabilities; and Ralph Shell, superintendent of Little Miami Schools.

        “These people are able to do whatever it is that they wish to do,” Mr. Oliver said of county employees' contributions.

        Other than Mr. Oliver, fellow Commissioner Pat South is the only county elected official who has contributed to Mr. Kilburn so far. , Sheriff Tom Ariss' wife, Bonnie, gave to Mr. Dunn's campaign.
