FAIRFIELD Ceramics teacher Floyd Juszli and senior Megan Noster spent part of Friday morning taping long red streamers to a fan that will inside a volcano during Sunday's Fairfield Arts Fair.
When completed, the fan will spew the ribbons out of the volcano, part of Mr. Juszli's room's theme, Spirit of Earth. It will be one of hundreds of displays at the 41st annual show.

It will feature more than 6,000 pieces of work and performances by dozens of groups.
Artwork from every Fairfield elementary building and most high school art students will be on display in the district's largest showcase of student talent.
In addition, fifth- to 12th-grade students in the district's choral and instrumental groups will perform.
This year's theme is Celebrate the Spirit, said Kathie Clark, a photography teacher and member of the show's executive committee.
Each room is reflecting a different spirit of the arts, Ms. Clark said. We have Spirit of Brush (painting), Spirit of Form (sculpture), Spirit of the Beginning (introductory art classes). All year long we've been adding to the pool of art so we'd be able to represent all kids.
The rice bowl is the one of the first pieces Ms. Noster made. She used five colors and had trouble because the foot kept breaking.
