Jane Pleiman of West Harrison, Ind., is a big fan of the silver jewelry bargains on the cable shopping channel QVC.
Every Sunday, they have a silver show, and I always watch it, says the program analyst, 52, who works for the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency in Corryville.
They have excellent quality pieces, she says of QVC. I love the gem stones and matching my jewelry to my outfits.
You can be found shopping at: Kmart. I might stop there every other month. Mostly I go when I get the urge to buy something new. It cheers me up.
Signature look: I wear a lot of separates skirts and blouses and I love scarves or jewelry that match or accent the outfit.
Earliest fashion memory: Back when I started working, in about 1968, I bought this black-and-white check outfit with black boots, to the knee.
You wouldn't be caught dead in: Sweat suits. I think they're sloppy looking and they don't bring out your best qualities.
Best bargain: I've been able to find really pretty Christmas sweaters at a reasonable price, instead of $70-$80. I like to dress for the holidays Halloween and Christmas are my favorites.
You can never have enough: Jewelry, especially earrings and rings. I really do think jewelry makes the outfit.
Favorite designers: I don't shop by designers. I just look, and if the clothes I like are in my price range, I buy them.
Fashion philosophy: I really think you can dress very nicely without spending a lot of money. You just have to stick with the clothes that complement you and not get caught up in trends.
Favorite finishing touch: A really nice silk scarf. I'm very color-oriented. When I shop, I visualize the outfit and try to find the accent pieces.
