Firms to aid blind, elderly

map
About 70 employees of Cincinnati-based Deloitte Consulting Professionals downtown will join with 15,000 employees of the company nationwide in “Repair Affair,” a fix-up, clean-up project.

They will go through North College Hill and Mount Healthy, helping the blind and assisting elderly residents with home repairs and maintenance.

They will be working with People Working Cooperatively, a nonprofit organization that assists low-income and elderly homeowners with maintenance and repairs.

Twenty-five employees will be at the home of Alberta Stinson on Leafwood Drive in North College Hill to help with repairs and maintenance, said Danielle Walton, business analyst for the company.

“I will be at the Clovernook Center for the Blind (North College Hill),” Ms. Walton said. “I will be helping to file and doing paperwork.”

Other local businesses helping to sponsor the day are: the American Red Cross, Bagel Stop, Armstrong Coffee & Vending, Senco, Busken Bakery, Coca-Cola, Procter & Gamble, the Brickyard and Home Depot.
