Fast-food giant now known as Yum
The Associated Press
LOUISVILLE Fast-food giant Tricon Global Restaurants has a new name.
Shareholders meeting Thursday approved changing the company's name to Yum Brands Inc. The name change will appear in today's stock listings.
Yum Brands better reflects our expanding portfolio of brands, said David Novak, the company's chairman and chief executive officer.
The new name matches the company's New York Stock Exchange ticker symbol.
The company last week completed its acquisition of Long John Silver's and A&W All American Food Restaurants from Yorkshire Global Restaurants. It is also the parent company of KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell.
