Man indicted in Oakley mother's death
A Madisonville man was indicted in Hamilton County Common Pleas Court on charges of aggravated vehicular homicide and leaving the scene.
The charges stemmed from a May 4 alcohol-related traffic crash that killed a 45-year-old Oakley woman.
Eric Tullis, 26, of the 2500 block of Madison Road has been released on a $25,000 bond.
Police have said Mr. Tullis failed to stop for a red light at the intersection of Erie and Paxton roads in Hyde Park before slamming into Theresa Murrie's car. She was driving southbound on Paxton Road.
Ms. Murrie, a mother of two, was pronounced dead at University Hospital.
Mr. Tullis fled the scene and was apprehended a short time later. He was highly intoxicated, according to his arrest report, and refused to take a blood-alcohol test.
Man killed in attempt to cross Interstate 75
FLORENCE A Lexington man was was killed Friday night after he was struck by a minivan as he attempted to cross the northbound lanes of Interstate 75, north of the U.S. 42 overpass.
Thomas Ingran, 39, was transported by ambulance to University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead in the operating room, nursing officials said.
Florence Police Lt. Tim Chesser said investigators don't know why Mr. Ingran tried crossing the highway at 8:40 p.m. steppinginto the path of a Plymouth minivan driven by Lisa Brennan, 47, of Hendersonville, N.C..
Mrs. Brennan, her husband and their three daughters were not injured.

Steel rods cause I-71 to close for 5 hours
A semitrailer driver lost control of his rig shortly after 4 a.m. Saturday along southbound Interstate 71, just south of Lytle Tunnel, causing his truck to tip and 25 tons of steel rods to scatter across the highway, said Cincinnati Police Traffic Officer Jerry Enneking.
William Grayson, 29, of Nettleton, Miss., was cited for failing to control a load shift.
The driver was transported to University Hospital, where he was treated and released.
Traffic lanes remained closed until 9:30 a.m.
Driver badly hurt in I-75 rollover
Sean Powers, 21, of Loveland was upgraded to serious condition Saturday at University Hospital, recovering from a one-car rollover crash Friday night along northbound Interstate 75, near the I-74 interchange.
Cincinnati Police Sgt. John Wainscott said Mr. Powers lost control of his vehicle about 11:30 p.m. It careened off the highway, went airborne into a wooded area and struck several trees before rolling down the embankment to a rest.
Mr. Powers was transported to the hospital in critical condition. An investigation continues.
Firefighters start 3-day conference
HAMILTON Firefighters will be honored with a ceremony that kicks off a three-day statewide conference here that features an address by Gov. Bob Taft.
The public is invited to attend the opening of the Ohio Association of Professional Firefighters conference at 9:40 a.m. Monday at the Hamiltonian Hotel, One Riverfront Plaza. A memorial video dedicated to firefighters killed in the line of duty will be shown.
Honor guards and dignitaries will be in attendance and antique fire engines will be displayed throughout the conference.
The governor's talk is set for 10 a.m. Tuesday in the hotel's Butler Ballroom.
The biennial conference is expected to bring 250 delegates and alternates to the city.
Police searching for home invaders
Cincinnati Police are looking for two men who used a pistol, Taser gun and police scanner to commit a Friday night home invasion in the 300 block of West Galbraith Road in Roselawn.
The men entered the home shortly after 10 p.m. and pistol-whipped the resident, who received minor injuries, before fleeing on foot, according to a police report.
