Direct flights to Atlantic City
Comair on Wednesday said it would begin direct service between Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport and Atlantic City on Oct. 1.
The Erlanger-based regional airline, a fully-owned subsidiary of Delta Air Lines, said it will be the only jet service between Atlantic City and a major airline hub.
The service will include three daily nonstop round trips between the cities. Tickets will be available next Thursday.
Guidant to cut about 200 jobs
Indianapolis-based Guidant Corp. announced plans to cut about 200 jobs from three California operations as it restructures its divisions.
The work force reductions will be at endovascular solutions operations in Santa Clara, Menlo Park and Temecula, Calif., with about half expected to be offered positions at other Guidant sites.
Guidant has more than 10,000 employees and makes instruments to treat heart and vascular disease.
Steel assets draw interest
Three more companies have expressed interest in bidding on the assets of Fairlawn, Ohio, steel maker Republic Technologies International, which filed for bankruptcy court protection last year.
Representatives from Niagara Corp., Sidenour LLC and Renaissance Partners LLC told U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Marilyn Shea-Stonum that they would be interested if they had more time.
