Body decomposing for days in family home
The Cincinnati Enquirer
COVINGTON Police say the body of James R. Wood Jr. had been decomposing for several days before they found it in a home occupied by his wife and two children.
It was unclear why the family didn't report the death. An autopsy was scheduled for Wednesday to determine how and when the 53-year-old died. Police said they were investigating, but that Mr. Wood had health problems that could have led to his death.
The home at 5108 Fowler Creek Road was filth-ridden, according to police, who called health officials. The children, 12 and 14, were placed in the care of the Kentucky Cabinet for Families and Children. Mr. Wood's wife, Rebecca, was in a confused state and taken to St. Elizabeth South Medical Center for evaluation, police said.
