Do you think your job has long hours? Consider the results of focus groups managed by Harvard Business School professor Rosabeth Moss Kanter. According to White Collar Sweat Shop by Jill Andresky Fraser, when Ms. Moss Kanter asked 300 professionals in the software industry about how much time they spent on the job, the answer that came back was not pretty: “Eight to 5? Today's Company: Health And Wellness Center

Alternative Resource: Nancy Murray began researching alternative medicine about 10 years ago when traditional approaches failed to cure her three childrens' ear infections. She trained in healing touch, Chinese energetic medicine and reflexology, then became a state-licensed massage therapist. Her business, the Health and Wellness Center, opened in June 2001 to specialize in these holistic treatments.

Building Balance: The Health & Wellness Center, located in Reading, is staffed by licensed massage therapists, reflexologists and a clinical psychologist. Some clients want to learn relaxation techniques and stress reduction; others need to improve circulation or digestion. The center also offers classes in meditation and Tai Chi. The goal is to achieve a balance that allows the body to heal itself.

Recognition: The Reading Chamber of Commerce recently named Ms. Murray Entrepreneur of the Year, citing her pioneering spirit and the success of her business.
