Congrats
Dickinson wins PTA scholarship
Michelle Dickinson is the Colerain High School recipient of Hamilton County Council of PTAs' Scholarship. She was chosen for her outstanding character, personality and scholastic record.
Michelle is the daughter of Joy and Don Dickinson of White Oak.
National award
Tracy Moore, a recent graduate of Summit Country Day School from Mount Healthy, was named a Ron Brown Scholar. His was one of 20 national college scholarships awarded annually by the CAP Charitable Foundation to outstanding African-American high school students. Over 7,200 students competed for the awards.
The program honors Mr. Brown, the first African-American secretary of commerce.
Tracy, who will attend Harvard University in the fall, will receive $10,000 a year for four years. The Scholar Program will also assist him in securing internships and enable him to attend the tri-annual Leadership Conference in Aspen, Colo.
Service honored
Employees of Middletown Regional Health System were acknowledged for long-term service at their Employee Recognition Dinner.
35 years: Marilyn Milton, a housekeeper for the Environmental Services Department; Sherry Smallwood, a staff registered nurse; and Shari Tutt, a hospital pharmacy technician.
30 years: Darrell Allen, a mechanic in the Facilities Management Services Department; Carolyn Ray, a technical specialist in the hospital laboratory; Lawanna Rudd, a cardiac sonographer in the Echocardiology Department; Theresa Terrett, a case manager for the Case Management Department; Elizabeth Waddell, an administrative assistant for Staff Resources; and Shirley White, unit secretary for the Intensive Care Unit.
Wendy Minor, a registered nurse and clinical manager at Middletown Regional Hospital was named the first Service Excellence Legend for going beyond the duties and responsibilities of her job to care for a patient.
Studies abroad
Bryan Walker, a student at Centre College in Danville, Ky., spent three weeks in Samoa, Tonga and Fiji studying the effects of tourism on the host communities in cultural, economic and ecological contexts.
He is a graduate of Indian Hill High School.
