What if? Copenhagen will ponder the outcome of World War II when it comes to the stage in January as part of Ensemble Theatre's A Salute to Heroes season.
The 2001 Tony Award for Best Play and Pulitzer Prize winner for drama reimagines a 1941 meeting between Werner Heisenberg, head of the Nazi nuclear program, and Niels Bohr, a Jewish physicist who would help develop the American atomic bomb.
We are thrilled to announce this final piece in our upcoming season dedicated to the celebration of heroes, says D. Lynn Meyers, the theater's producing artistic director.
Other shows in the series will include The Guys, The Frog Princess and the premiere of James and Annie by Tony Award winning playwright Warren Leight.
Copenhagen will run at Ensemble Theatre from Jan. 22 to Feb. 9 as a companion piece to Proof, which will run at Playhouse in the Park. Both shows deal with the conflict between science and humanity. More information: 421-3555.
